When a new year comes, a new look does as well! Whether it be your outfit or your home, a new year is always a good time to spruce up your style. Also called fairy lights for their ethereal appearance, LED string lights give a vintage and casual touch to whatever you hang them over. Our set achieves this look using E26 base Edison style light bulbs’ elongated shape.
The hanging possibilities are endless, so you might find it hard to get started. Here are a few of our favorite ways to hang our LED string lights.
What do I use to hang my LED string lights?
Before we get started, you’ll need to get some materials to hang our LED string lights. If you are going to hang them outside, you will need at least the following:
- Guide wires (or steel cables)
- Screw hooks
- Double barrel ferrules
- Zip ties
To install your LED string lights, place the screw hooks on sturdy mounting points. This can be anything from trees to under the eaves of buildings. Loop the wires through the screw hooks and route it through the ferrules.
Use zip ties to secure the LED string lights to the guide wires.
You can also use a string light hanging kit, which has everything you need in one package.
If you are hanging vintage LED string lights inside, you can get away with nailing them on or using cup hooks or coat hooks since there is no wind inside your home. Right?
4 Ways to Beautifully Hang Your LED Fairy Lights
Across your patio: this is a classic method, but it's not hard to see why it’s popular. Not only do the individual LED bulbs look orderly but combined they can bathe your entire patio with warm lighting. Roof or no roof, this creates an inviting atmosphere in your patio that is perfect for dining or lounging.
By a corner pole/tree: another traditional layout, using a vertical beam to string lights along your deck helps give a festive feeling fit for any celebration. You can set warm lighting around your deck or spread from one point. Whether it be for weddings or the 4th of July, sprawling your fairy lights will add to your party ambiance.
Over your dining table: if your ceiling is high enough, you can droop your LED string lights to make your banquet experience more relaxing. This will make your dining room feel as connected to the rest of your house as you are to your friends and family.
Along your wall: frame your wall with fairy lights to accent your other decorations, or to illuminate a dark corner.
