If you are planning on retrofitting your office with these 2x4 LED troffers, we’re here to provide you the steps to take to upgrade your lighting. While the steps may be simple, we highly recommend hiring a licensed electrician to do the installation for you. Should something odd be spotted, a trained professional would be able to safely deal with it without getting hurt. With that being said, here is how to install the architectural style LED troffer light:
Step 1: Shut off the power to your factory lighting fixture. Locate your power panel and flip the appropriate switch.
Step 2: Remove the flat panel lens, fluorescent tube light bulbs, and the ballast cover.
Step 3: Unwire the ballasts from your building’s stock wiring.
Step 4: Remove the wire management ring from the fixture. You will be using it later.
Step 5: Unscrew the bolts securing the fixture to the ceiling frame. Unscrew the bolts securing the wood frame wires.
Step 6: Completely remove the fixture from your ceiling.
Step 7: Slide the 4 retaining clips onto the LED troffer light.
Step 8: Remove the cap and fish out the power wire. Pop out any wire management holes you need on the cap.
Step 9: Affix the wire management ring to the cap. Screw in the cap to the building’s stock wiring.
Step 10: Install the LED troffer onto your ceiling.
Step 11: Wire the LED troffer to your stock building wires. Tap the positive wires together and the negative wires together.

Step 12: Switch on the power to your new LED troffer light to check your work.
