Since the LED grow light hit the market then the question arrives which one is better LED or HPS.  While LED lights emit light in a tremendous way, can they compete with the HPS light and other types?

First, it is important to know what is HPS Light? HPS stands for High-pressure sodium light which uses sodium particle and gases to emit light. HPS fixture makes light appears more natural. Compared to LED lights, HPS lights emit out more yellowish light due to colour limitations. HPS lights are mostly used for an outdoor application like parking lights, street lights etc on commercial space, schools, and other types of businesses area.

The good thing about  HPS light is that they're the sole source of illumination and maintain luminescence fairy well. They additionally do have longer lifespans but considerably less than LEDs. They are also fairly low-cost to get and low-cost to keep up and don't emit infrared or ultraviolet light radiation

However, they are very fragile and operate with a glass bulb, making them unsafe for hazardous or explosive environments. This makes maintenance and replacement cost much higher than LEDs  However, they're terribly fragile and operate with a glass bulb, creating them unsafe for risky or explosive environments.
